“EAT THE F****** BONES!!!” I shout at Paul – who’s crying like a wuss! He’s in pain, but powering through… in fact we’re winning!
He smiles at our etiquette coach, Rachel, who wipes streaming tears from his eyes – while he continues to demolish a plate of 20 blazing hot chicken wings!
The other guys at the table are left stunned at how fast our man is working through the spicy set.
Paul strips the last bit of chicken from one of MeatLiquor’s burning wings before stopping the clock at a record breaking 3 minutes, 38 seconds!
“He smashed it!” says the former record holder of the night. Even ex Big Brother stars, Alison Hammond and Kate Lawler (who’s just as hot as the wings) were impressed with his time.
We’d been invited to the launch party of Dark Souls III video game and our man, Paul took part in the super hot chicken wing challenge – hosted at one of MeatLiquor’s fantastic diners, in Angel, London.
The challenge runs until April 29 and the person with the fastest time wins a PS4 with a Dark Souls III Collector’s Edition.
The game – which is available on Xbox, Playstation and PC – is supposed to be extremely challenging… like the spicy wings.
We did get to have a play, but wasn’t very good at it – which I put down to having had one too many of MeatLiquor’s quirky cocktails.
Lucky for us, the chefs allowed us to order a couple of dishes which wasn’t coated in their killer sauce. Between the three of us, grabbed a dirty burger each, plate of chilli cheese fries and 12 barbecue wings. Inspired by Paul’s earlier efforts, we left nothing but a stack of bones – the food here is fantastic.
Unfortunately, before the night finished, we heard cheers coming from across the other side of the room.
Lads Holiday Guide’s time had been beaten by some tank who looked like one of the baddies from Mortal Kombat – he was hench!
We left shortly after feeling both full and drunk. Paul said he felt a little gutted he didn’t win.
Talking of guts… Actually, let’s not go there!
But visit MeatLiquor – seriously the toilets are shit hot.
