If you haven’t already tried those Escape Rooms yet…
Stag party specialists Maximise invited me and the boys to test out one of their top activities in an underground bunker in Riga.
We were locked in a room, given cryptic clues and exactly 60 minutes to get out.
Escape rooms are quickly becoming one of the most popular stag activities across Europe – and I can see why.
After an hour’s worth of puzzling challenges, we were defeated and released into the freezing Latvian streets as failures.
We’re a competitive group lads, which would explain why we spent so long blaming each other for not being able to solve the final riddle.
Despite our failure, before long we’d promised to do it again – and within a week of being back in London, decided to “rob the crown jewels” while taking on one of Escape Entertaiment’s Adventure challenge rooms.
Like even shoddier version of the Hatton Garden gem thieves, we succeeded and legged it with a ton of pretend treasures, feeling proud of ourselves at last.
The games are designed by a team of professionals, including organisational behaviourists, psychologists, mathematicians and even a Hollywood set designer.
Which explains why they’re addictive – and we’ll be come back for more.
